Solar Training - PV 200: PV Design & Installation Intensive-SOLD OUT!

The PV 200 is our flagship training intensive course, that offers 40 hours of critical knowledge and hands-on practice honed over 12 plus years of experience and taught by experienced industry professionals. If you are a contractor, builder, or electrician looking to expand your business, if you are looking to start a solar business, or if you just want to have an in-depth immersion into how solar PV works, then this course is for you.

This course is designed to prepare you to pass the NABCEP Entry Level Exam. The Exam is offered during the last few hours on the last day of the course. Yet, if you are not interested in the Exam, this course still offers a great immersion into solar technology, and hands-on training.

Through demonstration and hands-on practice, students will gain experience in
•    Racking Techniques
•    Wiring PV Modules
•    Installing Inverters
•    Connecting Charge Controllers, Meters, and Safety Disconnects
•    Ground Fault Protection
•    Battery Sizing and Maintenance

Course topics include:
•    Conservation & Efficiency Practices 
•    PV Markets and Applications     
•    Safety Basics     
•    Electricity Basics     
•    Solar Energy Fundamentals     
•    PV Module Fundamentals    
•    System Components     
•    System Sizing     
•    PV Electrical & Mechanical Design     
•    Performance Analysis & Troubleshooting

Students will leave the course with the knowledge to design, sell and install residential and commercial PV grid-tied solar systems. That knowledge can help you pursue careers such as a solar design engineer, salesperson, or installer.

Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
•    Establish suitable locations for PV array and other system components
•    Access solar sites
•    Identify steps, tools and deliverables of site assessment
•    Select appropriate system designs including major components
•    Estimate sizing requirements, materials, and equipment required for installation
•    Install photovoltaic modules and components
•    Provide required labels on electrical hardware and wiring

Course fees include a course textbook and other resource materials. Please bring a calculator, pen or pencil and note paper  with you to class.

As an Approved Provider to administer the NABCEP Entry Level Exam, we are offering this Exam on the last day of the class to students who are taking or have taken our PV 200 course. By passing the NABCEP Entry Level Exam you will obtain an Achievement Document from NABCEP, which indicates proficiency in basic terminology and concepts of PV systems. This is the industry standard for knowledge, please visit the NABCEP website for more information at www.nabcep.org. This Entry Level Exam is optional. To register locate the desired exam date on the calendar page and then add it to your basket.
