PV 101: Intro to Photovoltaics
Feb 20-21 2009, 9am-5pm

If you want to build your own PV system, or want to know if solar makes sense for you before you talk to a contractor, this 2-day workshop is for you.

Day One Topics:

  • Basics of electricity and PV
  • The nuts and bolts of solar components
  • Simple ways to save money by improving energy efficiency

Topics covered on Day Two include:

  • Quick calculation of financial payoff
  • Determine ideal system size based on equipment costs, incentives/rebates, and grid utility rates
The format for this class will primarily be lecture and discussion. For hands-on experience, we recommend PV102 as the follow-up course.
Course fees includes snacks, course syllabus and other resource materials.

If you have a career interest in PV, we recommend our 5-day intensive training, PV 200, which covers the same material in greater detail.
