NABCEP Entry Level Exam Info
Solar PV students that have received their certificate of completion from Solar Living Institute's PV200 Solar PV Design & Installation Intensive or the Online Solar PV Design & Installation may register to take the NABCEP entry level exam.
There are 2 testing formats from which to choose, the paper and pencil test at the Solar Living Center or computer-based testing at testing centers across the US.
The paper and pencil exam ($159) is given approximately three times a year at the Solar Living Institute in Hopland, check here to see the next date. The computer based testing ($120) is available to take at any time throughout the year. Log onto Prometric to determine the testing center nearest you. You must register through us first and receive your eligibility ID, in order to make a testing appointment with Prometric.
Here's the procedure:
1.) Review the NABCEP entry-level learning objectives,
2.) Read the Candidate Information Sheet, and
3.) Download the Candidate Eligibility Form, complete it, and

4.) Complete your registration for the exam.
After completing registration, further instructions for the paper and pencil test are sent in the confirmation email. Once you have registered with SLI for the computer based test through Prometric, you will receive an email from NABCEP with your eligibility ID within 24-48 hrs.
