Many an intern alumnus would agree that one of the Solar Living Institute's strongest and most effective programs, with great evolution over the years, is certainly the Internship Work-Trade program. We'd like to share with you exactly why.
During the course of their time at SLI, interns will offer their unique talents in a specific focus area within the organization. Beyond the support of SLI in their focus areas, interns will give tours to the public, educational tours to school children, serve as representatives of the SLI at conferences and festivals, maintain the organic garden, and take a plethora of SLI workshops. When there is a moment to spare, Mendocino County has opportunities galore for them to explore rivers, mountains, and the extended community.
Perhaps the greatest experience each intern leaves the Solar Living Institute with is that of communal living. It is no small chore to live in harmony with a handful of strangers, not to mention work and play as well.
The Solar Living Institute's 2012 Interns have taken flight into the world spreading the good news of sustainability with fresh ideas, new perspectives, and big hearts.
