SUMMARY

The non-profit Solar Living Institute is experiencing rapid growth in its Sustainable Living Workshop Program, and we are recruiting a Workshop Coordinator to oversee workshops conducted at the SolarLivingCenter in Hopland, CA. The Workshop Coordinator is critical to fulfilling our mission of promoting sustainability through inspirational environmental education. This position reports to the Workshop Director.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Collaborate with Workshop Director, Workshop Manager, and Solar Education Coordinator to ensure a quality, well-coordinated workshop program
  • Coordinate all logistics for Hopland workshops including:
    • Handle customer service and student inquiries
    • Manage workshop hosting procedures
    • Maintain communication with instructors
    • Coordinate workshop materials and onsite projects with Site Director, RE Coordinator and/or instructors
    • Insure cleanliness and set up of workshop classroom and outdoor meeting locations
  • Manage workshop data within Sales Force data management system
  • Maintain website with updates and current workshop information
  • Supervise Hopland-based workshop interns and volunteers
  • Assist in developing and maintaining the workshop calendar
  • Maintain workshop policies and procedures in conjunction with ISPQ standards
  • Conduct marketing and public relations activities to enhance SLI’s presence in the region
  • Promote Hopland workshops to increase enrollments using print, TV, radio and electronic promotional outlets as appropriate.
  • Organize and oversee workshop component of SolFest (the Solar Living Institute’s annual renewable energy festival)

Necessary Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail

·      Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, internet research

  • Excellent phone manner and customer service skills

·      Exceptional writing and communication skills

  • Able to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to develop effective work plans, set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to cope with stressful situations in an effective and appropriate manner

·      Ability to multi-task and work efficiently amidst distractions

 

Desired Experience:  

·      Minimum two years event or program coordination

·      4-year college degree

·      Minimum two years in non-profit or environmental work

·      Familiarity with data management

·      Marketing or public relations a plus

 

Compensation:

·      Competitive salary, depending on experience in the $30 - $35K range.
